Letter from the President

Dr. Austin LaneWelcome to Montgomery County's premier student-centered educational institution and proud member of the Lone Star College System led by Chancellor Richard Carpenter.

Since 1992, Lone Star College-Montgomery's faculty and staff have been committed to academic excellence and supporting the aspirations of its students by providing (1) a quality education that prepares students to transfer to four-year colleges and universities or equipping them with the necessary skills to enter the workforce, (2) an atmosphere that is relaxing and conducive to learning, and (3) an unwavering commitment to longstanding partnerships with key stakeholders in The Woodlands, Conroe, and Willis educational, business, health and technological communities.

During the next two years, Lone Star College-Montgomery is poised for the most significant campus expansion in its history. The recent passage of the bond referendum for the Lone Star College System included the construction of three new buildings on our campus, as well as a new state of the art satellite center in the Conroe/Willis area. This 83,000-square-foot, full-service facility in Conroe will allow the college to extend its reach to the north, where significant population growth is taking place, and allow us to offer a mix of academic transfer courses and programs, as well as workforce and industrial-oriented programs. The college will also add a new 75,000-square-foot academic classroom building; a 60,000-square-foot health science center; a 20,000-square-foot arts instructional building; and a 1,000-space parking garage to handle growth on the main campus. The construction of these projects will take place over the next two years.

So, please explore our Web site to find out more about all the wonderful things taking place at Lone Star College-Montgomery, as well as our sister institutions at LSC-Tomball, LSC-North Harris, LSC-CyFair, and LSC-Kingwood, that make the Lone Star College System one of the country's most precious resources.

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about the opportunities that exist for you at Lone Star College-Montgomery. If you have questions, comments, or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me directly at 936.273.7222. I would also urge you to visit our beautiful campus located on 165 acres of pine forest between The Woodlands and Conroe, Texas, to experience firsthand the friendliness of our faculty and staff along with the rich heritage and traditions of Montgomery County's premiere educational institution.

We are...Lone Star!
