Center for Business & Economic Development

The LSCS Center for Business & Economic Development provides customized training for businesses either at the business location, one of the Lone Star College System campuses, or the System Office.  Business training professionals are located at each college campus.

The Small Business Development Center provides business counseling for business owners or prospective owners of companies with less than 500 employees. Counselors are located at each campus to assist clients.

The Center is also involved with economic development in the North Houston area.  Ten chambers of commerce in the Lone Star College System service area named the Center for Business & Economic Development as the central point of contact for prospective and existing businesses in the area.

CBED provides other leadership venues that actively engage our communities:

Community Leadership Institute  coordinates Leadership North Houston, Leadership High School, Collegiate Leadership Institute, and the Community Development Institute.

Community Development Institute trains community officials and volunteers in the techniques of modern leadership and management of community development efforts.
